Hmmmm – have I mentioned how much I love bling – and butterflies, pink and chocci brown? And how much I adore the way the SEI put them all together in Jolie Chocolat???
Well I am telling you again now. Just LOVE this range. Here are the finished layouts I gave the sneaks to before and a card I made from the leftovers. I have a couple more ideas in mind, so I will be playing with this over the hols at some stage.
Since someone asked – yes – I do have a never-ending supply of these angel photos. And yes – I do like to alter them. This one has been made into a sepia and then lightened – a lot. I used Picasa – but you can do the same thing with Photoshop. It was something I was playing with and I really liked 3 versions of it. So at some stage I will scrap the other two as well – one of which is in colour, to show her ginger hair at the time.
And a new one I did not get time to upload peeks for. This one was meant to be 2 cards, but I got this idea in my head and made a layout instead.
The small word here is actually a stamp – I inked it on and then went over it with a metallic gel pen – kinda cool the finished effect, as it looks hand written and isn’t.
The title is inked (love the fuschia colour – Colorbox chalk ink of course) and I kindy-glitzed the rubons with the pink glitz, since the white rubons were a little too stark for the layout. I used a heap of the Jolie Chocolat rubons on this layout – was trying to use them all up – but there are still more to go.
And here is the whole layout. Such a precious photo – she was only 10 days old and asleep in her cot at home. Still beaten up from her birth (some of the embellishments hide her blackened and bruised eyes) but still the most beautiful and precious thing I have ever seen. The journalling is hidden behind the patterned paper – the small pink heart above the chocolate flowers is the tag to pull out the journalling. It was great to be able to use up some of the old petaloo flowers I had in my stash. I loved these yummy chocolate ones when they first came out and still think they are wonderful. The HS ones got a good use with this range too – the colours were a perfect match.
And last but not least – the card. The pattern on the middle of the ribbon is actually some of the Jolie Chocolat rubons. They were a buggar to get on the ribbon too – so if you try it, you really have to rub them hard to get them to stay on.
Now this is as bright as I get. I just love the Mira range – so cheerful and bright – but I had no idea what to use with it, as Madame is a girly girl and not so much a loud and bright one (though don’t ask me that on days she is telling the world how to run itself). But I HAD to do something with this paper – it just called to me.
The fancy paper I simply cut into two – dotted some kindyglitz onto the faint spotty pattern and then sat there wondering what the hell to put with it? I had to use some coredinations cardstock as well and although I had some ideas – had not been having luck with my ‘playing’ piece getting the look I wanted. But I cut one of the strips off the striped fancy paper and cut that itself into 3 again. By moving it about on the paper I got a black cardstock space between that I was able to ‘etch’ a matching petal pattern into.
Kinda scary when I put it all together – had to use a black and white photo as there was so much colour in the background. And kept the embellishments simple to allow the photo to stand out. More of the HS flowers – had forgotten how BIG they were and how versatile. Loving the chipboard words for this pack too – used one for the title and the other to hold the flowers in place. Too easy. There was nothing else on the layout really. Oops – did I really say that – there was the Scraplets bird. Oh my gosh when I saw that bird it screamed the Mira range at me – because they have that almost exact same bird as a rubon and a glitter sticker. So I had to order it in from 123 and use it. Just inked it and put a small gemstone in for the eye.
And here is the whole thing – a total blaze of colour. Like I said – kinda scary.
So that’s it from me – the last of my March stuff. I’m having an early night for me tonight and then happily opening all my DT boxes and my own new supplies to play with tomorrow. BG – all 5 ranges; some FP, some MM and some honest to goodness white feather angel wings. Have no idea what to do with them, but they are simply glorious!! First up is some DT work with ribbons for 123 and some secret squirrel stuff; and then some templates and more Jolie Chocolat for TSE. And then… I’ll keep you guessing on that until later.
I’d like to take the chance to offer a warm welcome to Mary, who has taken over the reins at TSE. Here’s hoping the change over for the store runs smoothly for her. And a sad goodbye to Annette – may she enjoy her time with the family, she really deserves to have some scrapping time again. I owe Annette so very much – she gave me my first chance at being on a DT and I so totally appreciate her taking that risk with me. It has been a great pleasure working with and for her.
